change
By me • Nov 26th, 2008 • Category: today's blog 365 postIt’s not just for the government anymore.
It’s been a huge part of my life this year. Which is why you haven’t heard as much from me, it tends to consume a lot of my attention. You see, I’m the infuriating sort of person that knows it’s in my best interest but will fight it at all costs, making you drag me kicking and screaming to something different. And then I’ll love it. Think it’s the best thing ever. Talk about it constantly. Make it a part of my daily routine until you drag me kicking and screaming to something new. It’s amazing that my family and friends haven’t just left me behind.
Anyway, a lot has changed in the last 12 months. Tonight I’m headed back to GR for the holiday and it’s gotten me a little nostalgic so let’s fire up the bullets and discuss.
- last year today I was happily immersed in the world of NaBloPoMo. This year? Umm, I think I made it 5 whole days. Sorry, you know, all that change and crap kinda consumed me. Luckily my sister is making sure the family name in the blogging world isn’t synonymous with the word slacker.
- The same said sister, her husband, and children won’t be there when I get home tonight. They are now happily settled in Seattle, which is a great place to visit, but it’s very very far away.
- And yes, tomorrow morning I will sitting on my parent’s couch, drinking coffee and kahlua, eating one of Grandma A’s sticky buns (you pervert, don’t even got here), and heckling the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. But this year Mr. Codejnki will be there sitting next to me.
- instead of being a year away from graduating, nicely buffered by three more semesters of full time school work before re-entering the real world, graduation is looming (I turn my last project in on Dec 15th - that’s 18 days away) and the job search is in full force. Which wouldn’t be too hard, if only there were more jobs available in the Detroit area…
Anyway, have a happy Thanksgiving, however you may celebrate. I may or may not be back before Christmas, we’ll see how much change riles me up in the next few weeks.
