something a little different

By me • Jan 5th, 2008 • Category: spinning, today's blog 365 post

Look! Visual proof that I (very occasionally) do more than just sit on my ass, watch TV, and surf the internet.

It’s a start to a pair of socks. Socks that may or may not be completed in my lifetime. My track record in finishing any fiber related project is pretty poor at the moment. Especially considering that this tiny little 135 yd hank of navajo-plied sock weight Targhee was started last October.

It’s not that I don’t want to spin and knit, it’s just that life (and a severe internet addiction that has gotten wildly out of hand ever since I purchased a laptop) has a tendency to get in the way. So one of my New Year’s resolutions? Turn off the TV and the computer for at least an hour every night (unless it’s school related.) Do something, anything, but be glued to a screen. I can knit, spin, study, listen to music, read, put my laundry away (what? it MIGHT happen), and generally anything else I want to do, as long as I’m not in front of a screen. After all, if I don’t do anything interesting, I’m not going to have much to tell you about every single day (except Feb. 29th), am I?

  1. So pretty! Note to self to try the Navajo plying.

Seriously, are you going to blog every day for the year? NaBloPoMo almost did my little head in, I can’t imagine a year.

  2. If that string were in my house, there is no way it would be coiled up as pretty as it is. It would be all over, strung from dresser top, down the stairs, and over the television.
    :-)

  3. I too promised myself to finish my UFOs in my knitting basket before I began any new projects. Other than a few fuzzy scarves, I’ve not completed much of anything in a very long time. So, what did I do? I started on a brand new cap. I’m thinking I’ll finish it because I’m doing it for a February birthday. (We’ll see.)
