connected!!!!

Finally, finally, FINALLY!!! I have my own internet connection. Sure, it’s a week later than they told me it would be. Sure it involved a lot of swearing. Sure I spent close to a half an hour on the phone trying to get the router working, explaining to the poor CSR that if this didn’t work I was driving to the nearest AT&T service center and shoving it up someone’s ass and then calling Comcast on one of their phones. But at least it’s working.

The wait for an internet connection was slightly less horrible because I also have cable. I didn’t know this until last night. You see, I did not ask for cable. And when I first moved in I didn’t think I had it. After all, I didn’t order it, I’m not paying for it, and the cable jack I found didn’t work.

I wasn’t too bothered. I really can’t afford cable, and I prefer to listen to NPR anyway. But I can’t get NPR in the apartment. My car - yes. The apartment - no. The silence was really getting to me. And then yesterday I was watering my plant when I noticed this

I plugged the cable in and realized that I have over 70 channels. This is mind boggling to me. I haven’t watched TV on a regular basis in over two years. I was up until 3 last night watching Comedy Central. Jon Stewart, I had no idea how I’ve missed you until you came back.

I would like to add that I did nothing more than plug a cable into a pre-existing jack, so my conscious is not troubled by stealing cable. It would still be there if I disconnected the cable going to my televsion. I didn’t mess with the wiring to steal from someone else. They can take it away from me whenever they want, and I will be fine with that. However Harvey might not be.

If the TV is on the only time he will leave that spot is if he has to use the litter box. And he’s showed a large interest in the remote control. There is no question that this cat is male.
