stereotypical single woman

One of my birthday presents came with a balloon attached. Personally, I could give or take balloons but the cats are loving it, Marty especially.

I shortened the string so that the balloon floats about 4 feet off the ground - perfect cat jumping distance. But it really isn’t so much the balloon itself that they love playing with, but the weight and the string. The balloon simply moves the other two pieces around, especially if it gets caught in an air current from the fans around the living room.

So far I’ve been woken up at least twice in the past two nights because Marty has decided that the balloon should come to bed with us (just in case he wakes up bored) - but there is just something about a rustling and erratic banging that will wake you from a dead sleep, especially when you’ve just moved into a new house. He takes it everywhere with him, and really, as long as I’m not trying to sleep, it’s very very funny to see a cat dragging a balloon all around the house (he even has a special spot to put it when he’s using the litter box.) However I noticed that this morning the helium is starting to go, so we’ll see how long it lasts. I might have to go get it refilled soon, because right now it’s amusing me as much as it’s amusing him.
