my new bathroom

I really like my new bathroom. Even though it’s old it’s really clean, about twice the size of my old one, and has a large clawfoot tub. There’s one small problem though. Something you would think you’d notice before signing a lease, but I didn’t.

There’s no shower.

I know! How in this day and age could a house not have a shower? And how could someone be so blind that they wouldn’t notice this major missing necessity before they put down a deposit?

A bath is not time effective enough to be included in my everyday routine. It’s a luxury, something you do once or twice a month, with bubbles, and bath salts, and loofahs, and other girly accessories. The point is to sit and soak for a long time and just relax. It’s not something I can, or even want, to do every morning. And how would I wash my hair? I just don’t see myself dumping water over my head with a measuring cup like my mother did when we were children.

So it’s off to Lowe’s I go, hoping for some sort of bathtub conversion kit that won’t permanently alter to bathroom. For a girl I’m rather handy when it comes to DIY stuff, but this will be the first time I’ve had to do anything that has to do with plumbing. I’ll keep you posted.
