moving on

Today I’m putting down a deposit to rent this house:

It’s a small two bedroom, with a yard that I have permission to do whatever I want with, just two blocks down the street from one of my coworkers. It looks a little sad on the outside, but imagine the lawn neater and greener, the ugly little bushes replaced with some daisies (they’re hardy, colorful, need very little attention, and just make me smile), a vegetable garden off the side of the front porch (the back yard is too shady), and a pot of colorful flowers on the porch.

The inside is clean, with decent hardwood floors, a nice open floor plan, and the rent is significantly cheaper than what I am currently paying. Not to mention there are washer and dryer hook-ups in the basement just waiting for the appliances that I will be purchasing once I get my deposit back from my current apt . I cannot tell you how happy this makes me. There are very few things I hate more than lugging laundry back and forth from a laundromat. Plus, my landlord has given me full permission for the boys and Teddie to reside in the house - that in and of itself will be very interesting.

I get the keys in two weeks and will be moved in by the end of May. I’m really excited - it will be so nice not having people living on top of me. Only three more weeks of waking up to the crochety old woman vacuuming in the mornings!
