Finally, some news on the job application front! I have have been short-listed at three, that’s right 3, more schools. All are Costume Shop Manager/teaching costume construction positions. One is in Tulsa, another in Northern Kentucky, and one in Laramie. I have two conference calls this week and the possibility of a day trip to interview within the next couple of weeks. At least something is happening, the waiting has been driving me crazy.

This is all very exciting and definitely a nice stroke to the ego. However now I am not only going to have to make a definite decision as to whether or not I really want to move away from my family yet again, but possibly where I want to move to as well. Yes, I need a job that challenges me, has security, and pays better than my current one does. But I really like my family and the people I’ve met since I came home and will miss them terribly - and really, how much do I want a job to control my life? But theatre is never just a job, it’s a lifestyle as well - and no one here does theatre at the level I’m accustomed to, and at times that really bothers me. Once you’ve worked Broadway where do you go? I definitely don’t want to go back to NYC - as great as the place is I’m just not a New Yorker. I’m just not completely sure what I want to do anymore. Sending out applications is one thing, interviewing really isn’t that hard and I’ve even gotten a short trip out of it, accepting something could be a bit more difficult, but I keep telling myself that I don’t have to actually worry about that quite yet.
