for Trina

It’s been a good week - at least in the sense of finishing things that I’ve been working on for months. Last night I finished my first pair of adult-sized socks ever. Yes, I am very aware of the fact that the colors pool in weird ways and don’t even come close to matching up. What do you expect from cheap Bernat sock yarn? Yes, the pictures are crappy because right now all I have is my camera phone. But I don’t care, I made a pair of socks! They’re a gift for my baby sister, the asthmatic, so of course the cats have been very involved and fascinated by the construction process of this particular pair. But they’ve been washed, dried, and are waiting to be transported to their new home. And of course I’ve already cast on for another pair.

On the job related front - no news yet. I’m giving up on the Buffalo job. It’s been so long since I’ve interviewed, and I haven’t heard anything, and in this game no news is not good news. But I have a conference call next week with a school in Kentucky, and my cd portfolios have been requested by a couple different colleges in the past two weeks, so hopefully there will be other options within the next month or so. Otherwise, it’s back to Artsearch I go.

To finish on a happy note - Trina, see how comfy your socks are? Every time I tried to take a picture Marty would insist I rub his belly with them.
